My friend’s daughter was diagnosed as diabetes type 2, and is now pregnant. Does prenatal care differ in this situation versus care for women with type 1 diabetes who are pregnant or women with gestational diabetes?

My 60 year old sister was diagnosed about four years ago with type 2. She had a lot of other physical problems notably in her arms. Her doctors said it was tendonitis and other problems. How can I motivate her to better regulation?
