My three year old daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 13 months of age. She has recently been sick and I couldn’t get enough carbs in her, especially at night. Her clinic advised us to use glucagon which we did for three nights. Was this dangerous?

Last month, while playing, she could not stand on her left leg. We took her to the emergency room and, over the next hour, she couldn’t move anything on the left side of her body. They thought she might have had a temporary TIA. Is this common in young people with diabetes? Is she more likely to have a stroke later in life?
