My son has Type 1 diabetes. He was diagnosed during the middle of first grade. He seemed to struggle with school after the diagnosis and all through second grade. Could his diabetes affect his school work performance and focus?

My three-and-one-half year old son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes one year ago. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis. Would my having PCOS and/or psoriasis make him more prone to carry the genetic make up for type 1?
